MORE Leisure - Mansfield Refurbishment Update
Back in May 2022, we announced an exciting new partnership which meant that Oak Tree Leisure Centre, Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre and Water Meadows Swimming & Fitness Centre would be moving from Mansfield District Leisure Trust to More Leisure Community Trust.
This move has allowed all sites in the area to be given a nice little face lift with some additions that we think our members will love!
Jack Garner, the Contract Manager in Mansfield said: “We are delighted to be starting the new contract with Mansfield District Council for the next 10 years.
“One of the biggest changes we’re making at Oak Tree is the installation of a new Shapemaster Health Studio to make sure we have a well-being solution for all of the local population.
“We’re also adding in a 4G football pitch along with a new community room to link in with our Health and Wellbeing programme and there will be new gym equipment across all sites.
“Upgrades at Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre include new sensory equipment whilst Water Meadows will have a full facelift. This will consist of a new splash pad to complement the already popular pirate pool, new changing rooms, new grandstand seating, a new and improved café and a all-action Climbing Zone.
"Some of the biggest improvements will be less visible, as we implement some great carbon reduction measures to make the leisure centres more sustainable”.
Water Meadows Leisure Complex
The Water Meadows refurbishment is in full swing and we're now under a new name - Water Meadows Leisure Complex! The exterior signage is almost all complete and the pool will begin to be filled in the next few days.
We know that one of the main issues for our visitors was the changing facilities on site, so we’re pleased to say that the tiles have started going in on the brand-new changing area. The café furniture has been delivered and the work continues on the counter area.
The Climbing Zone is currently being installed which will help Water Meadows become one of the premier family attractions in the East Midlands.
Our new Community Room is coming along nicely – the flooring is complete, and the new thermostat is in to help cool you down after the tropical climes of the swimming pool! We’re just waiting on some new furniture to help you to relax, either during a party or work conference.
Our state-of-the-art gym is now open and available for use. It has been upgraded with the latest cardio, resistance, and free-weights equipment for members to enjoy and push them towards their fitness goals.
There are also upgrades to our much-loved Pirate Pool - with a brand new Splash Pad under construction - but you'll be able to ride the flumes and the waves from our grand opening during February half-term!
Oak Tree Leisure Centre
Our brand new 4G pitch has been installed and is ready to welcome visitors. From professional sessions with Mansfield Town, to a kick-about with your friends, our pitches are available for hire. We even offer walking football on weekdays for a more relaxed game which will still keep you fit.
Our gym offering is now much improved - and we now possess state-of-the-art cardio, resistance, and free weight equipment to keep you on track for your fitness goals.
Rebecca Adlington Leisure Centre
Along with a new name, Rebecca Adlington Leisure Centre has had a face-lift which we know will improve our members' experience.
We have new signage, refreshed painting and rendering in both our reception and fitness areas. Both gym areas have had brand-new kit - with an additional order being made for more new equipment following customer feedback.
Other improvements that are due to take place include sensory lighting and features being installed in the teaching pool.
